Buying an Individual and Family Health Plan in Oregon

Private health insurance may be right for you if:
* You are self employed
* Your employer does not offer a group plan
* You are enrolled in a group plan, but it does not cover spouses or dependents
* You are enrolled in a health plan, but the premiums are too high
* You are under 65 and retired
Dental, Vision and Hearing
Medical vision services, are generally covered by all medical insurance plans. Routine vision services are generally not covered, but some plans do have this benefit. Routine vision determines if you need glasses or contact lenses.
Most dental, routine vision, and hearing coverage is not included in Original Medicare. You may get some of these benefits under a Medicare Advantage plan, or they may be offered as a rider to a Medicare Advantage plan for an additional monthly premium.
